Position Statement

By serving in multiple volunteering roles at IEEE ComSoc, I have gained experience and knowledge and have been able to start new programs and improve service to ComSoc members. I would like to leverage my diverse experience and background to improve our conferences. I have extensive experience in organizing conferences, having been a member of multiple organizing committees. I have been the General Chair of both a flagship (IEEE Globecom 2021) and a regional conference (IEEE MeditCom 2024), quite different in size and funding, and both highly praised by the attendees. I have been the Technical Program Co-Chair of conferences like IEEE WCNC 2024, breaking records of number of submissions.

If elected as VP – Conferences, it will be my honor to continue serving IEEE ComSoc by leveraging this background. I would like to rejuvenate conferences and improve the attendee experience and opportunities. If entrusted with the confidence of IEEE ComSoc members, I will commit my time and dedication to:

  • Maintain and reinforce the excellent technical program in our conferences.
  • Improve the industry program of flagship conferences and extend it to other conferences in our portfolio.
  • Provide more opportunities for participation to young professionals and students.
  • Improve the experience of attendees and their engagement.
  • Ensure a welcoming conference environment.
  • Strengthen the global reach of ComSoc by supporting regional and local events.
  • Evolve conferences as a venue for academia-industry-government dialogue.
  • Increase travel grants and opportunities for attendees of less-favored regions.
